Okay, maybe not, but you get the picture.
Society has the misconception that once you become a parent, all of your dreams you ever had prior to having children are gone for good.
Are parents allowed to have dreams?
Yes. ABSOLUTELY.
The much longer (and much more helpful) answer?
When parents sleep at night and have a dream during that slumber, why can't they dream when they're awake?
If you live to see a new day, it's another day to dream. Whether that's picking up a new hobby, finally going on that road trip, or starting your own business,.
The only reason society thinks otherwise is because we've been trained and programmed to believe that children are the end of your life, and that is far from true. In fact, children depend on their parents to have dreams and aspirations. They're watching you and imitating whatever you do. If you stifle the beauty of your goals and aspirations, your child will also be limited.
So next time you hear a false statement like "Parents can't have dreams," remember: as long as the child's wellbeing is not compromised, dream big!
Take care,
